What We Believe About Marriage
At Community Christian Church, we hold marriage in the highest regard as a divine institution instituted by God. We believe that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, reflecting the profound mystery of Christ's love for His Church. This sacred bond is a source of strength, joy, and spiritual growth, designed to cultivate love, respect, and selflessness.
We are committed to nurturing and supporting marriages through biblical teaching, pastoral care, and community support, recognizing that strong marriages build strong families and a vibrant church community.
FAQs
Can anyone get married at CCC?
Weddings held at CCC are available to regular attendees whose weddings have been approved through our pre-marriage process.
How do we start the process of getting married here at CCC?
After reading through the FAQs, fill out our wedding application and a member of our team will reach out to you shortly!
Is premarital counseling required?
Each couple requesting to be married at CCC will go through premarital counseling with one of our pastors or trained leaders. We consider this crucial to help you lay a solid foundation for marriage. The couple will complete an online course, take a personal relationship assessment, and complete 3 virtual or in-person coaching. Meetings are a space for couples to talk over important topics such as communication, conflict resolution, roles and responsibilities, intimacy, financial management, managing family, and spiritual growth.
Will a CCC Pastor officiate an off site wedding?
Wedding ceremonies at locations outside the church, such as parks, private homes, or other meaningful venues chosen by the couple are common. Based on availability and with proper notice, CCC pastors will officiate off-site weddings.
Why do we require both individuals to have a personal relationship with Jesus?
Scripture emphasizes the importance of shared faith as a foundation for unity and harmony in significant relationships, including marriage. A shared commitment to faith allows couples to grow in their relationship to God, both individually and together, and raise children in a consistent and supportive environment.
Why does CCC prefer a 6-month time frame before the wedding?
To combat any unnecessary stress, we want to ensure the couple and our team are given sufficient time to prepare. Far too often engaged couples invest more time planning the wedding than they do in preparing for marriage. We believe in the value of premarital counseling and want to make sure you are able to dedicate proper time and energy to it.
Does CCC provide a wedding coordinator for the ceremony?
Yes, we have coordinators who can assist with the ceremony portion for both onsite and offsite weddings. You will be assigned a wedding coordinator who will meet with you to discuss and help organize the ceremony. The fees will be discussed and agreed upon with your coordinator at your first meeting.
Please note, the CCC wedding coordinator is not a wedding planner. They serve as a point of communication throughout the process and, should you have an on-site wedding, are present for the rehearsal and wedding day (will open the building two hours prior to your ceremony start time).
Does CCC provide musicians for the ceremony?
CCC has a number of musicians and vocalists who are available for weddings, based on availability. There are associated fees based on the number of musicians/vocalists involved.
Can we have our reception at CCC?
At this time CCC is not hosting wedding receptions.
